HEC Members
Kristin Alford
Kristin (Chair, At- Large) and her husband, Josh, live in West Homewood with their five kids, collection of pets, and recently transformed no-mow front yard. Over the years Kristin has worked in Homewood as a business owner (The Ruby Begonia), fitness instructor (Pure Barre), and intern coordinator (Southern Progress), but her current work focuses on environmental and public health issues both nationally (Beautycounter), statewide (Coosa Riverkeeper) and now locally with the Homewood Environmental Commission. With deep roots in nature and the physical world around us, she hopes to see Homewood become a beacon of light to other Alabama municipalities by showing citizens how sustainability, preservation of greenspace and smart practices in development keep us healthier and wealthier. It is with great enthusiasm that Kristin joins our HEC team!

Scott and his family actively participate in local food share programs, trash pick-up events, and multiple recycling outlets.
